A temporary gap between income and expenses needs careful planning. A loan brings money forward but also adds costs and future repayments; it does not increase your income.

Identify the source of the gap

List when income arrives, which bills are due and which expenses can wait. A once-off expense is different from a shortage that repeats every month. Repeated borrowing can increase pressure on the next budget.

Consider practical alternatives

Where possible, reduce optional spending, use available savings or ask a service provider about an affordable payment arrangement. Do not rely on an uncertain sale, expected deal or unconfirmed payment to fund repayments.

Compare the full obligation

If considering a loan, compare the total repayment and payment dates, not just the cash received. Include living expenses and all existing debt. A smaller instalment does not necessarily mean a lower total cost.

MBC’s current application route

Apply through Pay As You Go if you meet our current criteria. Every application requires affordability assessment and credit checks. Approved terms may be up to 6 months; the quotation and credit agreement confirm the details. Approval and payout timing are not guaranteed.
